چکیده

The polarization tomography problem consists of recovering a matrix function f from the fundamental matrix of the equation Dη/dt = πγ̇fη known for every geodesic γ of a given Riemannian metric. Here πγ̇ is the orthogonal projection onto the hyperplane γ̇⊥. The problem arises in optical tomography of slightly anisotropic media. The local uniqueness theorem is proved: a C1-small function f can be recovered from the data uniquely up to a natural obstruction. A partial global result is obtained in the case of the Euclidean metric on R3.

Generic Local Uniqueness and Stability in Polarization Tomography

The problem of polarization tomography is considered on a Riemannian manifold. This problem comes from the physical problem of recovering the anisotropic part of the dielectric permittivity tensor of a quasi-isotropic medium from polarization measurements made around the boundary, but is more general. In greater than three dimensions local uniqueness and stability are established for generic ba...

On iterative reconstruction in the nonlinearized polarization tomography

We give uniqueness theorem and reconstruction algorithm for the nonlinearized problem of finding the dielectric anisotropy f of the medium from non-overdetermined polarization tomography data. We assume that the medium has uniform background parameters and that the anisotropic (dielectric permeability) perturbation is described by symmetric and sufficiently small matrix-function f . On a pure m...

The inverse scattering problem for orthotropic media in polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography

In this paper we provide for a first time, to our knowledge, a mathematical model for imaging an anisotropic, orthotropic medium with polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography. The imaging problem is formulated as an inverse scattering problem in three dimensions for reconstructing the electrical susceptibility of the medium using Maxwell's equations. Our reconstruction method is base...

Proper integration time of polarization signals of internetwork regions using Sunrise/IMaX data

Distribution of magnetic fields in the quiet-Sun internetwork areas has been affected by weak polarization (in particular Stokes Q and U) signals. To improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the weak polarization signals, several approaches, including temporal integrations, have been proposed in the literature. In this study, we aim to investigate a proper temporal-integration time with which...
